Mueller-Hinton Agar is a standard culture medium widely used for antibiotic susceptibility testing based on the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method and endorsed by the World Health Organization. Without added blood, this medium is ideally suited for sulfonamide sensitivity testing due to its low content of antagonistic compounds. When supplemented with blood, it provides optimal conditions for the growth of Neisseria species.
